Let’s make a standout podcast that makes listeners come back for more.

Where listeners say…*

I was on the bike when I started listening and for I second I felt like it took my breath away and I had to stop the bike. I just dropped in, right in there with you, not in the situation, but in the feeling.

*actual feedback from our client’s listeners.

I’m really in a hurry now, because I just had to listen but I’m late to work.

I laughed and I cried.

So so cool and inspiring.

Ok, you might not be there just yet.

And that makes sense. Creating something intentional that leverages the power of audio takes time, presence, and boundaries.

You might have a podcast or two up your sleeve, you come in here with experience. You’ve had lots of conversations and it might have been as low tech as one can imagine. Everything was always a "one take wonder", made with minimal, if any support in the production. And for a long time this was a really effective way to get the word out, and it allowed you to try if this podcasting thing really is something for you.

Or you have a podcast idea, and you’d like to create something valuable. So you've spent some time online trying to figure out “what it takes to make a great podcast in 2024". You've probably been showered with many "shoulds" and things "one must do". You've been scoping the outer landscape and it's very noisy.

I’m lucky to be in contact with vibrant, interesting change makers just like you, all the time. I recently sat down for coffee with one. She told me about the vision for her work, and her face was glowing. I believed her, what she said pulled me in. As we said goodbye she told me she had a podcast. I decided to check it out, but as I pressed play she disappeared.

A mask came down. Some generic scripting came out. So it got me curious, why does this keep happening to people starting podcasts? That their voice gets lost?

The reason most podcasts don’t work is not that they’re bad. It’s that they’re vague.

When a podcast feels like a lot of work

We tend to default to standardised “growth hacks”. There are good reasons for that, making a podcast can be overwhelming. The checklist and the “hacks” all have the same goal. To publish content smarter and quicker.

But simply applying templates might destroy the very things that makes a podcast special - intimacy, voice and world building.

It’s a missed opportunity. Neuroscience has found that these aspects of podcasts can change how listeners think and act in the world. It can make people care, and connect deeply to what we have to say.

Welcome to Producer’s Room

a place where we zoom in on your existing podcast or idea, craft your story and then we build it out in sound.

I’ve created Producer’s Room to address some of the most sticky challenges of creating a podcast that is worth your listener’s time. A collaborative workflow that allows us to go deep while we keep moving forward honouring the essential podcasting principle of learning by doing, during 6 months.

Find what’s special

Learn to “think audio” so that you can leverage your message and story in an engaging way. Together we build out or refresh your podcast concept and tie it closer to the hearts of your listeners.

✔️ taking time for what matters

🚫 no more vague!

Create it in sound

We’ll make you shine on the mic, and produce your next 3 episodes together. So that you can have a deeper impact with your listeners and your clients with a clear, distinct voice* that people can connect with.

✔️ show up with the presence that builds a world

🚫 no more generic scripts!

*with voice I also mean your unique point of view, how you guide your listeners through your episodes and the meaningful insights you leave them with.

Build it out

From producing together we build your blueprint - a technical specification for your podcast that is adjusted to your needs and ability, so that producing your podcast beyond Producer’s Room fits YOUR reality.

✔️ supportive boundaries

🚫 no more “quick-fix” hacks and to do lists!

Together we build that type of connective tissue with your listeners that is worth more than any download number out there.

Once you have a solid concept, you can grow it.

We’ll embed your voice in a format that works for YOU

So that your content can support your voice and mission, instead of being the master of you. Let’s turn the tide of endless hours of content creation that has a lukewarm effect with your community. Together we focus in on what matters and create that standout podcast, while you’re guided by a Producer every step of the way.

Reduce the overwhelm, focus on what matters.

Learning how to produce stand-out content can feel overwhelming, and too often our voices are lost in the noise. And you are realizing that following formulaic “how to” lists just doesn’t cut it. You’re here because you know that special ingredient to your podcast success requires different work. Something a professional Producer will be able to help you with.

How working with a producer makes a difference

Get clarity on how to shape your story and topic to make the most out of audio. That type of hands-on direction and support will work wonders for your podcast.

Katarina’s talent is hearing a story, and then not just turning into something that makes sense but that also is a joy to listen to

Wies Bratby

You help me cut out the fluff and keep my listener in mind every step along the way as we developed this. My episodes are so much more engaging, and I feel to show up in a new way.

MIchelle Grant

You asked me the right questions and steered me in the right direction. You helped me to find clarity in a complex topic.

Evgenia Tsianou

I finally sound like myself on the mic now and that’s huge.

Katarina is showing instead of telling in her examples thoughout the material. I find myself immersed, intrigued and my creativity is working in ways it hasn’t for a while. It’s a powerful experience

Anja Peiffer

Yes, that’s means professional support all the way.

BEFORE

Planning. We start out by slowing down, finding your why of the podcast and craft the narrative of your show. Then we look at what type of episodes can help us reach our goals. We plan interviews, and questions.

DURING

Production. Your producer on site at the time of your recording, listening in as a second ear. Whether we’re doing remote work or at our studio downtown Zürich.

AFTER

Post-production. Creation of your unique podcast sound aesthetic and production of your trailer and first three episodes. Once we have completed the initial three episodes, thorough documentation and a briefing will be made with the production partner taking over after Producer’s Room.

Creative collaboration

Together, we’ll take your podcast from being a guess-work to a powerful piece of IP that you are proud of. That has purpose for you and for your listeners. A podcast that sounds different, that FEELS different.

Meet your Producer

Hi there, I’m Katarina. I went from being an avid podcast listener/fangirl to an internationally recognised podcast producer, specialised in narrative storytelling. As an independent producer, I know what it’s like to start from nothing, with a grand idea. I know what it’s like to stand up for what you believe in creatively and not being afraid of walking that path.

My productions has since then been recognised by Webby, Prix Europa and sonOhr.

Listen to my podcasts here.

I created the Producer’s Room to fix the information overload, one podcast at a time. I was tired of seeing inspirational people drowning in the noise, so I decided to replace the “quick fix” strategies with a fun and stimulating methodology to go deeper. A way of working that prioritises your voice, style, charisma so that it can blend with your special take on your topic.

My approach

Highly personalized

My goal is for you to get progress, and therefore will set your individual milestones. Each milestone completion will grant you an extra session with me. The more work you put in, the more support I will offer.

Structure

Creativity needs trust. I will create a safe space by guiding you through a clear structure with weekly themes delivered via Audio Correspondance and monthly 1:1 calls in Producer’s Room. So that you can lean into your creativity and trust the process.

Playfulness

With Audio Correspondance I will challenge you to access your creativity in new ways, by stepping away from your computer and going out for walks. We learn by doing, and I will help you bring humor into the creative process to make it lighter and more energising.

Here is how we’ll work together

AUDIO CORRESPONDENCE

Weekly. To spark your creativity, I’ll send you creative prompts via audio.

You’ll record your insights and send me your findings each week. It’s like a creative sketchbook in audio, that will support the process with your podcast.

WRITTEN PROMPTS

Self-paced. Some ideation happens best on paper. That’s why you’ll also have written prompts to go deeper with your ideas. I will give you feedback on worksheets during our Producer’s Room sessions.

PRODUCER’S ROOM (1:1 coaching)

Monthly. Each month we’ll meet in the Producer’s Room, in a 1 hour, 1:1 coaching session via Zoom where I role play the producer on your podcast, and we tackle different aspects of your podcast/creative process.
